Lord Ashcroft, whose commissioning and analysis of political opinion polls has transformed understanding of British politics, has published a most prescient piece on Conservative Home in which he predicts that the General Election in May 2015 will be the closest for 40 years; and puts forward his view that the three main political parties have frankly only themselves to blame.
