Schools not ready for meals policy

Thousands of schools will need to improve their kitchens in order to introduce Nick Clegg’s policy of providing free meals for infant school children,  according to figures attained by the BBC. Through a series of freedom of information requests, the BBC found that more than 2,700 schools in England did not have suitable kitchens and around 1,700 schools had no kitchen at all. However, Schools Minister David Laws insisted this morning: “Most schools will find it relatively straightforward to cope with this policy.”
