Government announce increase in childcare subsidy

The Government have announced that a childcare subsidy of up to £2,000 per year will be available to working parents from autumn 2015. It will apply to all children up to age of 12 and could benefit as many as 1.9 million working families in Britain. Announcing the scheme the Prime Minister said the policy, which effectively covers 20% of childcare costs up to a maximum of £10,000 a year, would help “hard-pressed families” and “provide financial security for the future”.
