Hunt calls for ‘technology revolution’

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt gave a speech to the Health and Care Innovation Expo in Manchester calling on the NHS to embrace a ‘technology revolution’ and provide more personally tailored care. The Health Secretary cited the retail, banking and travel industries, which have cut costs and improved customer care. He said patients with long-term conditions would be able to manage their own care by using apps, whilst the internet could be used to book appointments and medical consultations online.
