New study shows student volunteering worth £175 million a year

A new study by the National Union of Students found that a third of students devote an average of 44 hours a year to volunteering. It was concluded that around 725,000 student volunteers giving time worth about £175 million a year. However, 18% of all students said they did not think they could afford to do more volunteering than their current levels.
