Concern over apprenticeships reform

Stewart Segal, the CEO of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers, has warned the Government that the planned reforms to apprenticeships could “endanger the success and hard won credibility” of current programmes.  Stewart Segal said he wanted to see changes that build on the success of existing schemes, and warned that the proposals to fund employers directly through an HMRC system could cause major disruption by creating barriers to entry for small businesses put off by bureaucracy.
