Labour has demanded an apology from the Government since shares in Royal Mail are currently trading at 560p – 70% above the sale price three months ago. Labour claimed that taxpayers have been “short changed” by the deal. However Business Minister Michael Fallon firmly denied the suggestion that the Government could have held out for a higher price at the beginning without deterring long-term investors from buying shares.
