MPs have expressed concern that cuts to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will leave the Government less able to deal with emergencies such as flooding and ash dieback. The department announced last week it would be cutting 1,500 jobs by October as part of an effort to find £300 million of savings by 2016.
