It has been announced that the Government will formally review the fundraising self-regulation scheme in 2017, and report back to MPs. The Government has argued that fundraisers should continue to self-regulate but that the self-regulation system should be “placed on notice” and reviewed in 2017. This follows a recommendation by Lord Hodgson that the fundraising sector should work together to create a sector-funded, self-regulatory body covering all of fundraising.
